Ok, this is a bit of a tangent from what we normally post here, but it might be helpful to someone.
Metaweblog and wordpress discontinued in Flickr?
It no longer shows up under “Sharing and Extending” and only allows use of facebook, tumblr, and twitter.
For many websites, I like using a workflow where the blogger emails a photo to flickr and flickr updates the wordpress blog. It works really well especially for those who want to keep things simple. Anyhow, I recently discovered flickr doesn’t offer it anymore.
But not so fast!
Here are the old links (you need to be logged into flickr for these to work):
Add a Metaweblog API
You’ll need to enter your username and password along with the endpoint.
http://www.”yourblogsite”.com/xmlrpc.php (something like this)
After you get it set up, you can edit the layout of your blog post here:
Edit layout and settings
I’m getting a bit annoyed with flickr for offering these things then taking them away. Hopefully, this will help someone out. There also could be an easier way to do this that I haven’t heard of yet. You also might consider that these links could also be taken down by flickr, or them disabling the feature altogether. Hopefully that doesn’t happen as I find it very useful.
